For Bremer County Attorney

I am originally from Glenwood Iowa which is located in Mills County in the southwest corner of the state. I was raised in the same community as my parents and grandparents.

My mother, Roberta Dashner was employed in various county offices throughout her life. She ultimately retired as the Mills County Recorder. She died in 2008.My father, Sherrill Dashner, is a retired farmer. Part of the ground he farmed is a century farm from his great grandfather. He has been married to my stepmother, Christine Dashner, since 1977. My stepmother is a retired elementary school teacher.

I graduated from Glenwood Community High School in 1984.I attended St. Olaf College in Northfield MN. I graduated with a BA in English in 1988. After graduating from college, I was a flight attendant for Delta airlines until 1997. For the majority of my flying career I lived in Cincinnati OH. In 1997 I returned to Iowa to attend law school at Drake University. During law school I worked in the Drake legal clinic and as a prosecuting intern in Dallas County.

In 2001 I moved to Waterloo to begin work at the Black Hawk County Attorney’s Office as an Assistant County Attorney. I was there until July of 2006 when I began as the Assistant Bremer County Attorney eventually being made the Deputy Bremer County Attorney.

I have been married to Jeff Schlobohm since 2008. Jeff works for Huntington Bank.

I have an adult stepson, Cory, who is a pharmacist in northern California.

Jeff and I currently have 3 dogs and have fostered several dogs over the years.

I am currently the Board Chair for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa Western Illinois.

In my leisure time I enjoy reading, walking/jogging/hiking, travel, and cooking.

Erin Pratt

For Bremer County Treasurer

I am running for Bremer County Treasurer.  Let me start by giving you some information about myself.  I am a wife and mother of 4. I have worked in the Bremer County Treasurer’s Office for the last 11 years. My husband is Jim Pratt, he did work at Nestle’s in Waverly up until February 2021 when we were in a car accident and that forced him to be put on disability due to injury to his back and is now raising black angus cows.  Our oldest name is Bryce, he is 27 years old and is working for NV Photography and does hair and makeup for photo shoots.  Next, we have Madison who is 22 and works for Floyd County Hospital has a lab technician.  Our third child is Landon, he will be a senior this year at Nashua-Plainfield and the last but not least our youngest Jalynn will be a junior at Nashua-Plainfield.  But before I got to where I am today here is a little back story about myself.  I grew up just North of Horton and graduated from Nashua-Plainfield in 1995.  I graduated with an Associates degree from Des Moines Area Community College in Management Information Systems.

I have had various jobs in the past from running flexible spending accounts for R.D. Drenkow which is now Advantage Administrators.  I then met my husband Jim when he was back for his 20 yr class reunion.  I followed my heart and moved to Northwood Iowa and worked for what was Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry and is now TruStile.  I worked in Customer Service.  We had various clients all around the United States.  After living in Northwood for 7 years, we ended up moving back to the area due to my father-in-laws failing health.  This brings me to were I am today.   I have worked in the Bremer County Treasurer’s Office for the last 11 years.  I started off working strictly in the Driver’s License department but I have since grown to work in all three department which include motor vehicle, property taxes and driver’s license.  I have a wealth of knowledge in each department and move department to department.  I also know how each of my current co-workers work and I now their knowledge. I am one that is willing to help and work with any of my co-workers to make our jobs run smoother.  When we first moved back to the area along with working for Bremer County, I also was the Youth Sports Foundation football program coordinator for 3rd through 6th grade.  I was responsible for getting people signed up, fundraising, set up and tear down for the football games.  Also, I had to be one to get coaches, workers for the sidelines plus run the concession stand.

I want to run for Bremer County Treasurer’s Office because I believe the citizens deserve to have someone that has the experience of what the office does and how it functions, but also serve the citizens of Bremer County with integrity.    I am a person that stands behind my high moral standards.  I have what it takes to run the office by working with people and communicate with each employee along with treating them with respect.  Along with the office, I know I can do good for Bremer County.
